Juventus eye Bernardo Silva but major condition could decide summer deal

Juventus are stepping up their efforts to sign Bernardo Silva ahead of the summer transfer window, with the club significantly increasing contact with agent Jorge Mendes in recent weeks.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri have intensified their pursuit of the Portuguese midfielder as they look to strengthen their squad with a high-profile addition.

Multiple conversations and frequent phone calls between the parties are said to underline Juventus’ strong desire to close the operation as quickly as possible.

Silva, currently a key figure at Manchester City, is reportedly intrigued by the possibility of a new challenge in Serie A. His technical quality and experience at the highest level make him one of the most attractive midfield targets on the market.

However, Juventus face a major condition to make the deal realistic: qualification for the next UEFA Champions League.

Securing a place in Europe’s elite competition is considered essential to convince the player and overcome competition from other top European clubs, including FC Barcelona, as well as interest from Galatasaray, MLS sides, and financially powerful clubs in Saudi Arabia.

From a financial standpoint, Juventus are preparing a structured offer to make the move feasible. The plan reportedly includes a three-year contract with a salary of around €7 million net per season, plus performance-related bonuses.

While the investment would be significant, the club believes strong relations with Mendes could help facilitate negotiations.

For now, Juventus remain fully engaged in talks, but the outcome of their season will be decisive. Champions League qualification remains the key factor that could determine whether this ambitious transfer becomes a reality or remains out of reach.
