Juventus reject Galatasaray’s offer for young star

Juventus have turned down an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray for their young wingback Alberto Costa.

The 21-year-old Portuguese player joined Juventus in January from Vitoria Guimaraes for around €13 million, becoming the first signing of the winter transfer window. After his arrival, Juventus also signed Randal Kolo Muani, Renato Veiga, and Lloyd Kelly.

Unlike the other three, Costa had to wait for several months before making his debut. However, he worked hard and finally became an important part of Igor Tudor’s squad. Costa impressed during the FIFA Club World Cup, where he started regularly and even provided two assists in Juventus’ 5-0 win against Al Ain.

According to Italian journalist Orazio Accomando, Galatasaray were searching for a new right-back and tried to sign Costa. But Juventus quickly rejected their offer, showing their desire to keep the talented wingback.

Costa is under contract with Juventus until June 2029, and the club believes he has a big future in Turin.

Despite keeping Costa, Juventus may still look to strengthen the wingback position. The club has been trying to sell Timothy Weah, who recently refused a transfer to Nottingham Forest. If Weah leaves, Juventus could sign another player for the flanks.

For now, it is clear that Alberto Costa is set to stay and continue his development at Juventus.
