Bologna’s coaching position is up in the air as Thiago Motta’s contract nears its end next month.
Motta, after helping Bologna to qualify for Champions League, has been reportedly set to become new Juventus manager, but hasn’t yet sat down with Bologna to discuss his future.
Despite the interest from these big names, Bologna is determined to keep Thiago Motta.
Both CEO Claudio Fenucci and sporting director Marco Di Vaio have spoken publicly about their desire to retain him, praising the positive changes he’s brought to the team.

However, Bologna is also preparing for a scenario where Motta departs. They have identified four potential replacements, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Maurizio Sarri, who recently resigned as Lazio coach, is reportedly interested in the job, particularly if it involves Champions League football. His attacking style aligns well with the foundation Motta has built.
Raffaele Palladino, Eusebio Di Francesco and Vincenzo Italiano are the other three candidates Bologna is considering if they need a new coach at the helm.
In conclusion, while keeping Motta is their top priority, Bologna is prepared to explore other options if he decides to leave.
