Carlos Tevez criticises Juventus and reveals why he dislikes Spalletti
Carlos Tevez has shared his thoughts on Juventus’ current situation, criticising the club’s recent performances and questioning Luciano Spalletti’s style as the Bianconeri prepare for another rebuilding process.
The former Juventus forward, who spent two seasons in Turin and became a key figure during his time at the club, spoke to La Repubblica about the challenges facing his former team.
“I watched Juventus’ disastrous season, they did not even qualify for the Champions League. They will need another year for yet another rebuild,” Tevez said.
The Argentine also gave his opinion on Spalletti, explaining that the Juventus coach does not match the type of personality he prefers in a manager.
“I don’t like Spalletti. I don’t see him as a passionate coach. I like coaches with hot blood,” Tevez explained.
When asked about his ideal coach, Tevez named Antonio Conte, who managed Juventus during his time at the club.
“Conte is the best coach I have ever had. I also enjoyed working with Allegri, but sometimes he is a bit too defensive.”
Tevez also discussed the Italian national team and suggested that Conte could be the right person to help them return to success.
“Does Italy have a coach? No? It has to be Conte. He is a phenomenon and the only one who can help them get out of this situation,” he said.
The former striker also praised Paolo Maldini, suggesting that a partnership between Conte and the former AC Milan director could be the perfect solution for Italian football.
“I have met Maldini personally, he is really capable. If you could create a Conte-Maldini partnership, you would be set.”
Tevez also spoke about Argentina’s national team, admitting that he believes they rely heavily on Lionel Messi.
“We are only Messi. He is a gift from God. Did you see the goal he scored? Leo is not from this world.”
The former Juventus striker is currently focused on his coaching career after retiring from football.
He has managed Rosario Central, Independiente and Talleres in Argentina, and is currently without a club after leaving his latest position.
