Surgery possibility emerges for Kenan Yildiz as Juventus monitor his condition
Kenan Yildiz has started his summer break after Turkeyโs early and painful elimination from the 2026 World Cup, but the Juventus forward now faces an important period to recover from his physical problems.
The 20-year-old has returned to his hometown of Regensburg, Germany, where he is spending time with his family and trying to recharge after a difficult tournament.
However, his focus is also on solving the knee issue that affected his World Cup campaign.
According to Tuttosport, Yildiz has been dealing with persistent patellar tendinopathy, a problem that caused him discomfort during the competition.
The Juventus number 10 played through pain during Turkeyโs final World Cup match, completing 84 minutes despite the physical issue.
The priority for Yildiz now is complete rest and recovery. During his time in the United States, the young forward followed a specific treatment programme aimed at reducing the pain, and the rehabilitation work will continue during his holiday.
Yildiz is expected to return to Continassa around July 20, almost three weeks after his last World Cup appearance. Once back in Turin, Juventusโ medical staff will carefully assess his knee and decide the best way to manage his training workload.
The situation is being monitored closely because Juventus are preparing for a very demanding season with more than 50 official matches ahead. Having Yildiz in the best possible physical condition will be important for Luciano Spallettiโs plans.
Surgery has not been ruled out as a possible solution. An operation could solve the problem permanently, but it would also force Juventus to wait longer for the playerโs return and could affect his start to the new season.
At the moment, surgery remains only a possibility. The final decision will be made by Yildiz together with his representatives and Juventus.
The next few weeks will be important to understand whether the Turkish talent can be available from the start of the season or if a more careful return will be needed.
