Juventus are set to have a new coach ahead of the next Serie A season.
The fate of Massimiliano Allegri as Juventus manager is all but sealed, regardless of the outcome of the Coppa Italia final, according to Italian journalist Fabio Caressa via TJ.
While an official announcement has yet to be made, Caressa believes that Allegri’s departure is a foregone conclusion.
“The news on Juventus at the moment, as gathered by our Sky Sport editorial team, is that even without an official statement, regardless of the Coppa Italia final outcome, Massimiliano Allegri’s fate is sealed,” Caressa said on Sunday.
“There is talk of a possible dismissal, as it will probably be difficult to reach an agreement. These are the rumors that are circulating.”
Motta is close to Juve
Caressa further indicated that Juventus has already made the decision to move on from Allegri, even if it hasn’t been officially communicated to the manager. The 56-year-old expects the announcement to come at the end of the season, with Thiago Motta being in line to replace him.
“It is known that Motta is close to Juventus,” Caressa added. “It is known that they may have talked, that there is an agreement… or let’s say that they have talked, there is a possibility, because agreements cannot be made at this time.
“Let’s say that there is a maximum understanding for Thiago Motta to go to Juventus. Even though Thiago Motta has not yet officially communicated anything to Bologna, who nevertheless have this conviction that Thiago will leave at the end of the season.
“Even though they hope until the last minute that he can stay for Bologna, making a choice similar to that of the Bayer Leverkusen coach (Xabi Alonso). It is very likely that Thiago Motta will be the next Juventus coach.”
