Juventus are working on revamping their attacking midfield, and they have identified Teun Koopmeiners as their primary target for the role, according to Tuttosport.
The Atalanta midfielder has agreed to a five-year contract worth €4.5 million per year with Juventus, but the Bianconeri still need to reach an agreement with the Bergamo club.
Koopmeiners missed the European Championships due to a muscle injury, which could accelerate the transfer process.
Juventus are keen to sign the player as soon as possible, and his absence from the Euros could make Atalanta more willing to negotiate.
If a deal for Koopmeiners falls through, Juventus are also considering a move for Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic. The Serbian midfielder is a more affordable option, but he is still considered to be a talented player.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is leading the charge for the attacking midfielder signing, with the help of Giuseppe Pompilio.
Stefano Stefanelli is expected to join the club as head of scouting in the near future, and he will also have a say in the decision-making process.
According to the earlier reports from Sportitalia, Juventus have scheduled a meeting with Atalanta to talk about the potential transfer for Teun Koopmeiners.
Meanwhile, for Lazar Samardzic, who is currently with Euros in the Euros, could still arrive at Juventus should the Koopmeiners deal collapse. He’s been on Juventus radar for a long time.
