Juventus’ summer transfer window continues to be a hive of activity, with developments on both incoming and outgoing fronts, according to Romeo Agresti on Juventibus.
Incoming Deal on Verge of Completion
Juventus is on the cusp of securing its second major signing of the summer, with Douglas Luiz expected to close imminently. This swift move highlights the club’s commitment to rapid squad reinforcement.
While not an ideal scenario, Juventus is preparing to part ways with young midfielder Enzo Barrenechea, who is included in the Douglas Luiz deal from Aston Villa, together with Samuel Iling-Junior.
Discussions between Barrenechea’s representatives and the English club are underway, with only player approval needed to finalize the deal.
Romeo Agresti revealed that Juventus is not happy with Enzo Barrenechea’s departure. Enzo replaced Weston McKennie in the deal.
McKennie’s Uncertain Future
Finding a new club for Weston McKennie remains a challenge. Negotiations are complicated by his contract expiring in 2025 with no signs of renewal, making other clubs hesitant to offer a significant valuation. Juventus is determined to secure a fair price for the American midfielder.
Kean Seeks New Home
Juventus is actively exploring options to offload Moise Kean. Given his current market value of €9.7 million on the club’s books, finding the most effective way to move him on is a priority.
Strong Stance on Soulé
Juventus has taken a firm stance regarding young forward Matias Soulé. The club has reportedly communicated a high valuation of €35-40 million to his agents, signifying their unwillingness to sell him for less than their desired price.
Juventus also rejected Aston Villa’s request to include Soulé in the Douglas Luiz deal. Two main reasons appear to be driving this strong stance:
Preventing Undervaluation: Juventus is determined to avoid selling Soulé for a price they deem insufficient for his potential.
Addressing Squad Depth Concerns: Juventus acknowledges a lack of attacking depth within the squad, and Soulé’s talent is seen as important for addressing this issue.
Koopmeiners and Calafiori on Giuntoli’s Radar
Despite the focus on other deals, Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli is reportedly continuing to pursue long-term targets Teun Koopmeiners and Riccardo Calafiori. These efforts are seen as part of a strategy to align with the requests of new manager Thiago Motta.
Riccardo Calafiori is considered as a number one objective by Cristiano Giuntoli but with Bologna’s reportedly valuation Juventus might not be able to sign him.
