Federico Chiesa is reportedly seen as expendable and will have to decide his future after the Euros.
He has been rumored to leave Juventus either through a straight sale to Napoli or AS Roma or via a swap deal with Bayern Munich, who are also interested in signing him.
Juventus now have three attacking players lined up as potential replacements, including one requested by Thiago Motta.
The Swap Deal
Federico Chiesa is reportedly being considered for a swap deal with Bayern Munich for Joshua Kimmich and 10 million euros. Both Chiesa’s and Kimmich’s contracts expire at the end of 2025.
Kimmich is not wanted by Bayern’s new manager, Vincent Kompany, and he has expressed dissatisfaction with the managerial change.
Kimmich has had ongoing issues with management regarding his shifting positions, moving from right-back to a defensive midfielder.
This versatility could benefit Juventus, as they need players in both positions, making Kimmich an appealing option.
Replacements
Juventus has three potential replacements for Chiesa. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Alexis Saelemaekers and Jadon Sancho are being considered. Saelemaekers could be chosen due to his past with Motta.
He was loaned from AC Milan to Bologna, where he thrived under Thiago Motta’s management. Now for sale by Milan, Juventus could reunite him with Motta.
Jadon Sancho is another player linked with Juventus. Sancho is looking to leave Manchester United due to a fallout with manager Erik Ten Hag over training standards.
He had a 6-month loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, showing flashes of his quality, which has piqued Juventus’ interest.
The last potential replacement is Mateo Retegui from Genoa. According to Tutto Mercato Web, Retegui could be used as a second, more gritty striker behind Vlahovic.
He has proven capable for the Italian national team, looking like their best striker in the Euros, making him a viable option for Juventus.
