Juventus is actively pursuing the goal of building the strongest possible squad under new manager Thiago Motta.
Among the targets identified by the Italian-Brazilian tactician is Atalanta’s Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri management is devising a strategy to secure the Dutchman’s services.
Atalanta has set a price tag of around €60 million for Koopmeiners, a figure that Juventus currently cannot afford. Before making a move for Koopmeiners, the club needs to generate funds through player sales.
The most likely candidate for an exit is Matias Soulé, who has attracted interest from Premier League clubs and could fetch a fee of €40 million, which could then be reinvested in Koopmeiners.
Dean Huijsen, a 2005-born defender, could also be included in the deal. Huijsen is highly regarded by Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who is seeking a replacement for the long-term injured Scalvini.
Huijsen, on the other hand, is looking for a club where he can play more regularly than he did last season. Including Huijsen in the deal could be the key to unlocking Koopmeiners’ move to Juventus.
Juventus is determined to sign Teun Koopmeiners, recognizing his potential to become a key player in Thiago Motta’s project.
While the financial aspect poses a challenge, the club is exploring creative solutions, such as player sales and potential swaps, to make the deal a reality.
The inclusion of Dean Huijsen in the negotiations could be a decisive factor in securing Koopmeiners’ signature.
