Juventus are on the verge of completing a major transfer deal for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, according to Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport via Ilbianconero.
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been in close talks with Luiz’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, in recent days to finalize the agreement.
Luiz currently earns around €3.5 million per year at Aston Villa, and Juventus are reportedly prepared to offer him a salary of between €5 and €7 million.
The transfer fee for Luiz is expected to be around €65 million, with Juventus offering Weston McKennie, Samuel Iling-Junior, and a cash payment of around €18-20 million in exchange for the Brazilian midfielder.
Luiz was one of Aston Villa’s key players in the Premier League last season, helping the club qualify for the Champions League. He scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.
Aston Villa are reportedly selling Luiz not for footballing reasons but rather to improve their financial situation.
With the agreement close to being finalized, the transfer of Douglas Luiz to Juventus could be announced imminently.
