According to Thursday’s TuttoSport front page Juventus will not be able to Buongiorno and Di Lorenzo.
Buongiorno has turned down to move the Juventus out of respect of Torino his current club who will sell likely sell him to Napoli. Giovanni Di Lorenzo and will back flip on his decision to leave Napoli and will now stay.
Why Napoli
Di Lorenzo and Buongiorno could have been convinced to stay or sign by new coach Antonio Conte. It has been said previously that Di Lorenzo and Conte had a phone call together but still was adamant he wanted to leave.
However, he could have decided to stay after Euro 2024 where he performed poorly.
Buongiorno could see Napoli as his only option. He will not move to Juventus out of respect for Torino fans and AC Milan have lost interest.
But he would be stupid to sign any deals early as more appealing clubs the Napoli could come. This is because of Napoli likely entering a multi-year rebuild this season.
Other Options
Riccardo Calafiori was Juventus other centre back option before Calafiori. Now he is looking set to join London club Arsenal.
However, I find these rumours hard to believe as he would either have to move to left back or the bench. He would also be on less wages than he would get at Juventus. I personally think this is a stunt by Bologna to get Juventus to pay more.
If Calafiori is to sign for Arsenal, Juventus could move to sign Arsenal rotation centre back Jakob Kiwior. This is due to Motta being a large fan of him and his price. Kiwior would only cost Juventus 15 million and he could also play as a full back if needed.
Another option for the right back role is Yan Cuoto from Manchester City. Cuoto is only sale by City due to his very impressive loan spell last season at Spanish side Girona.
The 22-year-old is also wanted by AC Milan, but they are moving to another Brazilian fullback Emerson Royal. Juventus are looking for a loan deal with Manchester City which could include a buy option for the next season.
