Adrien Rabiot’s future at Juventus appears increasingly uncertain as contract negotiations between the player and the club have reportedly stalled.
The French midfielder’s recent comments, indicating his desire to focus solely on the European Championship before making a decision on his future, have further fueled speculation about his departure.
According to reports, Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique, has demanded a significantly higher salary than the €7 million per year plus bonuses that Juventus had initially offered.
Rabiot is reportedly seeking closer to €9 million per year net, a figure that has put off potential suitors, including AC Milan.
Despite interest from Newcastle United and Liverpool, Rabiot is said to have his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
However, the Spanish giants have yet to make a concrete offer, and it remains unclear whether they are willing to meet Rabiot’s wage demands.
Juventus, meanwhile, has reportedly accelerated its pursuit of Nice midfielder Khéphren Thuram as a potential replacement for Rabiot. The Bianconeri’s interest in Thuram intensified after Rabiot’s rejection of their contract offer.
With the European Championship now concluded, Rabiot’s future is expected to become clearer in the coming weeks.
Real Madrid remains his preferred destination, but the club’s willingness to meet his salary demands will be crucial to determining his next move.
Juventus, on the other hand, will need to act quickly if they want to secure a replacement for Rabiot before the transfer window closes.
