Riccardo Calafiori to remain at Bologna this summer

Bologna sporting director Claudio Fenucci has announced that defender Riccardo Calafiori will remain with the club for the upcoming season.

“Our intention is to keep most of the players from last season,” Fenucci stated during a press conference to introduce new head coach Vincenzo Italiano.

“We want to continue with this group that can still improve. We prefer to continue with them, and we have already communicated to his agent that we do not intend to move the player.”

Calafiori’s Potential Move to Juventus

Despite Fenucci’s assertion, Calafiori remains a transfer target for Juventus.

The Bianconeri have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with the player’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, on a five-year contract worth €2.5 million net per season.

However, Juventus still needs to negotiate a transfer fee with Bologna, which is complicated by the fact that the Rossoblù are obligated to pay Basel 50% of any profit from Calafiori’s sale.

This has significantly increased Bologna’s asking price, which is now far beyond Juventus’ initial valuation of €25 million.
