Matias Soule scored his first goal for Juventus in Serie A during the 4-2 win over Sampdoria and spoke to Sky Sport microphones after the game about his incredible emotion.

“I’ve been waiting for it for so long, since I scored in a friendly match. I didn’t know how to celebrate, I wanted to cry, it’s an emotion that cannot be described”, said Soule about his first goal.

He went on to describe his two chances during the game, “I had two occasions, one with my left foot and I hit it badly, then another one close to the post. I was angry, I say it politely, then came the goal, which was almost Dusan’s goal”.

Soule shared his experience of playing in different age categories and the differences between them, “I played for Under17, Under19 and then Next Gen, it’s different from a physical point of view, there’s a different pace but you already play against professionals”.

Soule was also asked about his role in the team, where he said, “I think as a playmaker… I like to receive the ball outside and go one on one, I feel comfortable between the lines, looking for the ball”.

Soule also expressed his admiration for past and present Juventus players, “I’m inspired by all of them, I’ve trained with them. They are phenomenal, I learn every day, I’ve also gone to the national team with Argentina… I hope to become one of them”.

When asked about the first message he received after the goal, Soule mentioned his family, “My family. They told me that I deserved a goal after so much effort. They are always by my side”.
