Andrea Barzagli provides insight on Dusan Vlahovic’s recent struggles in Serie A
Juventus legend Andrea Barzagli has shared his thoughts on the current struggles faced by Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic in Serie A.
Speaking to DAZN after Juventus’s 4-2 win against Sampdoria, Barzagli highlighted the importance of finding the right momentum and continuity for the young player.
“At the moment, Vlahovic is trying to find the right continuity, of scoring goals, of playing well and he’s having a bit of a hard time. Today he did some interesting things, as we said even after the missed penalty,” Barzagli said.
During the match, Vlahovic struggled to find his rhythm as he even missed the penalty won by Juan Cuadrado in the second half, but Barzagli pointed out some positive aspects of his game.
He said: “In the first half, he came back to the ball, always with his back to the goal, where he struggles. A couple of times he went deep, but I think we can already see his characteristics there.”
Despite Vlahovic’s lack of goals in recent games, Barzagli urged him to stay focused and believe in himself.
He said: “It’s normal, he’s going through a dry spell in terms of scoring, but he has to keep working and believe in himself. If then there were some help, players who can give him the ball… Pogba has never been there, Di Maria is currently out, but he will come back.”
Vlahovic is not producing the expected results since his arrival at Juventus from Fiorentina. Although he suffered an injury that kept him out of action for two months, he is yet to return to the top level.
The Serbian international has scored eight goals in Serie A this season.
