Juventus end the season in Turin with a 2-0 win against Monza. After nine years, Alex Sandro scored the second goal in his final game for the club.
The Bianconeri got the job done early with Chiesa scoring a solo goal in the 26th minute. Two minutes later, Nicolo Fagioli, on his first start since his suspension, gave Alex Sandro an assist off the corner.
It was a quiet finish to the game with a couple of big saves from Carlo Pinsoglio in his annual one-game season.
An emotional Alex Sandro was subbed off in the 74th minute to a standing ovation and applause from the crowd. In his final appearance for the club, he matched Pavel Nedved’s 327 matches played.
With the season all said and done, Juventus are currently in 3rd place pending Atalanta’s final two games. If the Bergamo club wins both they will finish above the Old Lady.
Next season will be a different Juventus with Thiago Motta joining the club from Bologna and new signings over the transfer market in the summer, with Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio being the first signing for next season according to reports.
