Allegri: Working hard to overcome difficulties at Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri spoke at a press conference on the eve of the match against Bologna.

How do you see the team?

“We are coming from a negative period, as we have lost 5 of the last 6 games. Tomorrow we have the opportunity to turn things around against a Bologna team that is doing very well.”

Have you had any discussions with the players?

“The thing to do in these moments is to keep quiet, as has happened before when we lost 15 points or in other seasons. In football, when you don’t win, you are in the wrong and when you win, you are right.”

“There has been no confrontation with the players. When a team loses, especially at Juventus, everyone talks about it. There will be moments when you win a little less, but you have to work hard to win again.”

“I, in particular. For me, it’s a challenge because it motivates me. Everyone is doing well, but Chiesa has been inactive for 10 months and his performances are normal, like Pogba, who is not in optimal condition to play a game. I would like to see the Pogba I coached, but at the moment it’s not like that. The hardest time is now, because the club has to be a united front, as we have the 35 most important days of the season ahead. I am speaking from all angles.”

Why have there been so many defeats?

“It’s not easy to explain, I’ve experienced something like this at Cagliari. Now we have 7 league games and 2 Europa League games, hoping for 3. We have to get out of these moments together without seeing everything as worse than it is. Despite the disasters we’ve had, we’re still third in the league.”
