Inter has finalized the arrival of Juan Cuadrado, the right winger who recently became a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Juventus.
Cuadrado, a Colombian international, will now don the Nerazzurri colors after completing a one-year contract that will run until June 30, 2024.
The unexpected move has caught many football enthusiasts off guard, as Cuadrado’s departure from Juventus and subsequent signing with their Serie A rivals was not widely anticipated.
Cuadrado spent six seasons with Juventus, from 2015 until the previous campaign. However, at the end of the season, the club’s management, in agreement with coach Massimiliano Allegri, decided not to extend his contract.
During the 2022-2023 season, Cuadrado featured in forty-seven matches across all competitions for Juventus, including Serie A, the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Coppa Italia.
He scored two goals and provided four assists, showcasing his ability to contribute both in scoring and creating opportunities for his teammates.
Cuadrado’s time at Juventus was marked by memorable goals, including his strike in the derby against Torino in October 2015, which sparked a comeback in the title race. He also scored crucial goals in the Champions League against Lyon, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
Interestingly, Cuadrado has often found success against his new club, Inter Milan. Some of his most famous goals came against the Nerazzurri, such as his long-range effort from a corner kick in 2017 at the Juventus Stadium.
Another notable goal was scored on April 28, 2018, at San Siro, albeit with a deflection, in a 3-2 victory that effectively secured the Scudetto for Juventus.
