Juventus look to De Paul, Samardzic, and Hojbjerg to add goals to their midfield

Massimiliano Allegri has asked Miretti to improve his scoring contribution, but the Bianconeri coach’s request can be extended to the entire midfield department.
So far, in fact, Juventus’ midfielders have scored only two goals in Serie A: Rabiot’s on the first day of the season and Locatelli’s shot deflected by Krunic that decided Milan-Juve.
It was difficult to think that Rabiot could replicate the numbers of last season (11 goals), while Locatelli often plays too far back to be dangerous. In addition, obviously, there have been the disqualifications of Fagioli and Pogba, from whom Allegri expected a contribution in the goal area as well.
So what the coach is asking can come from the transfer market. It is no coincidence that two of the profiles that Cristiano Giuntoli is already working on for January are Rodrigo De Paul and Lazar Samardzic.
The Argentine has lowered his scoring averages since he has been at Atletico Madrid, but in Serie A he had top-level numbers.
Twenty-five goals in the last three seasons at Udinese. Also at Udine, there is Samardzic, who despite often not starting, is still coming off a season with five goals, while he is on target two in these first eleven games.
Five as the goals scored by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with Tottenham in the 2022/2023 season. He, unlike the two already mentioned, is not born as a midfielder dedicated to the goal but who has shown that he can do that too.
Without forgetting that in addition to strengthening the midfield, the club’s plans also include adding quality to the attacking department, giving Allegri the possibility of varying tactically from 3-5-2.
From Berardi to the young Sudakov of Shakhtar Donetsk to those who have proposed to return like Bernardeschi and above all Douglas Costa. Juve is also looking at profiles of this type; quality and goals, this is what Allegri asks for.
Analysis and prospects
Juventus need goals from midfielders to have more chances of winning the championship. So far, the Bianconeri have scored only two goals from this area of the field, a figure too low for a team that aims to win.
The arrival of De Paul, Samardzic or Hojbjerg would give Allegri an extra option in the goal area, as well as improving the quality of the squad.
Of course, there is no guarantee that these players will be available in January, but Juventus is already working to strengthen in this area of the field.
If Juventus were to succeed in bringing one of the three aforementioned midfielders to Turin, they would have an extra weapon in the fight for the title.
De Paul is a player of great quality, capable of scoring goals and assists. Samardzic is a young and promising player, who has already shown that he can do well in Serie A. Hojbjerg is a complete player, who can play in different roles.
The arrival of one of these players would give Allegri more options in the construction and attacking phases, and would help Juventus improve its offensive performance.
