Juventus are reportedly eyeing Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić as a potential target, should they fail to retain the services of their midfielder Adrian Rabiot.
Rabiot’s contract with the Turin-based club is set to expire at the end of the season, making him a free agent.
Meanwhile, Milinković-Savić’s contract with Lazio is due to end in June 2024, and talks of a renewal are already underway.
However, as of now, the Serbian midfielder has not shown any inclination towards extending his stay at the Rome-based club, despite Lazio offering him €5m per year.
Juventus has long been admirers of Milinković-Savić’s talents and is reportedly willing to put Luca Pellegrini in the deal to acquire the midfielder’s services. Pellegrini is currently on loan at Lazio.
However, Juventus is also keen to extend Rabiot’s contract, and talks between the two parties are expected to be held later this month.
Rabiot’s relationship with manager Massimiliano Allegri and the prospect of Champions League football next season are said to be key factors in his decision.
Rabiot is reportedly seeking a salary of €10m per year, while Juventus is offering €10m with bonuses.
