Salernitana v Juventus: Match preview, team news and probable lineups
Published
1 year agoon
Salernitana has the chance to leapfrog Juventus in the Serie A table by beating them in the upcoming match on Tuesday evening.
Salernitana is currently 8 points clear of Hellas Verona, who is at the brink of the relegation zone, while Juventus is down in 13th place after being deducted 15 points last month due to financial irregularities.
The visitors, Juventus, are having a forgettable season, having only picked up one point from three matches since their points deduction.
However, they remain in contention in the Europa League and the Coppa Italia, where their two-legged tie against Nantes awaits in the former competition, and a semi-final match against Inter Milan in the latter competition.
The coach, Massimiliano Allegri, may prioritize these competitions over the league, given that the winner of the Europa League automatically qualifies for next season’s Champions League.
Despite that, Allegri still wants to improve his team’s confidence by returning to winning ways in Serie A as soon as possible.
On the other hand, Salernitana, despite losing 8-2 to Atalanta and only gaining one point from four matches after returning from the World Cup, they managed to earn a crucial win over Lecce last weekend, which could boost their confidence in facing Juventus.
Team news and probable lineups
Salernitana will remain without defenders Federico Fazio and Norbert Gyomber due to muscle injuries, with both players unlikely to return until later in February.

Juventus will be without Leandro Paredes for the match against Salernitana. The Argentinian has a niggle, while Kaio Jorge, Arkadiusz Milik, Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci remains sidelines.
